The Telecommunications Software & Systems Group (TSSG) is a research and innovation centre based in Waterford Institute of Technology, Ireland. The TSSG has a strong expertise in the areas of distributed systems and service oriented architectures for the communications and telecommunications industry.

Managing communications infrastructure and services is the core research focus of the TSSG. This encompasses emerging architectures for the management of complex telecommunications and Internet systems as well as next generation service development and deployment.

The TSSG is unique in the Irish research landscape, embracing an integrative strategy that explicitly addresses all elements of the research and innovation lifecycle: basic research (strategically oriented), applied research, pre-product development, and commercial spin-off activity.
